History

In the mid 1930s, a new radio frequency (RF) instrument was developed for the nondestructive moisture measurement of lumber and wood products. This invention was the beginning of the Moisture Register Company. The Company then developed other applications for this technology in the paper, textile, and food product industries.

In the late 1950s, the Company applied RF technology in continuous systems for the gypsum plasterboard industry. Then, in the early 1970s, Moisture Register Company introduced its first non-contact near-infrared (NIR) moisture analysis system for use in the manufacture of paper and food products. In the late 1970s, Moisture Register engineers developed the first four-channel microprocessor-based controlling console for moisture analysis.

In 1977, the Berwind Instrument Group acquired Moisture Register Company. In the following year, former Moisture Register Company employees founded Aqua Measure Instrument Co. to exploit their new ideas for moisture analyzers in the paper and granular materials industries. After Moisture Register Products was sold again, this time to the Penril Corp., Aqua Measure Instrument Co. acquired Moisture Register in January of 1987. Today, Moisture Register Products is a division of Aqua Measure Instrument Co.

From the outset, the mission set by the Company’s founders has been to provide up-to-date instrumentation to measure the moisture content of products in industrial processes. Combining the two product lines has resulted in a product mix that complements a multitude of applications in any industry that requires moisture measurement.

Today, Aqua Measure Instrument Co. and its Moisture Register Products division remain fully committed to providing state-of-the-art moisture analysis products and services that exceed our customer’s expectations.
